I have a playful, energetic, and person-centred approach which supports children with their self-confidence, attention skills, and social skills, and an empathetic stance
I am enrolled in the DBS Update Service, Level 3 Safeguarding trained, and fully professionally licensed by the Health and Care Professions Council.
I have extensive experience with music technology, which I use in music-production and song-writing with teenagers, to avoid the anxiety that can come from making music up on the spot on instruments. I currently work predominantly with adolescents with a history of school phobias or frequent exclusions.
I have worked across Waltham Forest and East London with children with autism, ADHD, and other diagnoses. I am an energetic and playful therapist and I love to see how music therapy can bring out the potential in these groups.
I have lots of history of working with PMLD children. I support non-verbal children in expressing their emotions through music, use music-making as an incentive for physiotherapy exercises, and offer rich, sensory experiences for them. I have a strong track record of advocating for this group's autonomy, self-expression, and potential.
Local Authority work and Schools are able to get in touch with me and commission my services for whole days. I take part in multi-disciplinary meetings, EHCP meetings, and other team-around-the-family meetings. I will always advocate for the child and write positive reports with active strategies that can be implemented across the child's life.
Sessions are 15-30 minutes long and are very, very playful! They are designed to see how a child responds and to encourage curiosity, less targeted work than with older children.
Sessions are 30 minutes, or 50 minutes in a group. Group work with primary aged children is incredibly beneficial and I believe one of the most effective methods of music therapy! The work is targeted following an assessment, working towards specific aims and strategies for the individual.
Sessions are 30-50 minutes and tend to be individual or in pairs. Teenagers can find music therapy embarrassing sometimes, and need lots of preparation and planning so that they know what to expect.
